Giulia Marro

We welcome to the festival a new name emerging from the Birmingham Conservatoire, over from Northern Ireland. Giulia is currently in her second year of study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire studying clarinet with Andy Panayi and Mike Williams. Alongside her studies, Giulia has been active on the jazz scenes of Northern Ireland and Birmingham having recently performed with her quartet in Belfast and alongside the Xhosa Cole Quartet in Birmingham. Giulia’s is inspired greatly by more traditional jazz musicians such as Django Reinhardt, Barney Bigard and Edmond Hall and  hopes to bring a fresh approach to traditional jazz.
