Gaz Hughes Trio

Gaz Hughes first came to wider public attention as the original drummer in the Matthew Halsall Band and featured heavily on the early recordings of the Gondwana label. 

A particular highlight was recording the album “On The GO”, which won THE BEST JAZZ ALBUM OF THE YEAR - Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards, 2012 and was nominated Best Jazz Album MOBO Awards, 2011. Gaz’s latest album, “Beboperation”, was released on the 6th May 2022 .

The trio formed in 2005 and since then, have performed all over Europe in Jazz clubs, festivals, crusie ships and even royal weddings. They also perform at private functions and events bringing a touch of sophistication to any booking. The members of the band are extremely well regarded on the UK Jazz scene and have played on many award winning albums. 

Gareth has released several albums as a band leader supported by UK tours and extensive radio play. He was voted 5th in the British Jazz Awards 2019. The trio specialise in making any gathering seem more intimate. They bring the feel of a cool Jazz club straight to your event with classy arrangements, a smart appearance and a bespoke repertoire to suit the mood of the day.
