Legends Festival

We welcome back our Annual Legends of Jazz Festival, this year drawing inspiration from Chris Batchelor's signature band, on the special theme of Zoetic (meaning “pertaining to life; living; vital” art form). Promoting this Festival is the affirmation of our commitment to jazz as a living, vital musical art form, ever-evolving to engage new & diverse audiences, young & old, from very many different cultures & both genders. The Festival presents bands and musicians with the same commitment to jazz & to diversity. Celebrating the meaning of jazz to life, we will have a varied and diverse demographic range of artists, representing the worldwide influences that jazz encompasses & celebrates; all Legends.

This year's Annual Legends of Jazz Festival takes the special theme of  Zoetic ( defined as “pertaining to life; living; vital” in the way jazz is to its followers). Promoting this Festival is the affirmation of our commitment to jazz as a living, vital music form, ever-evolving to engage new & diverse audiences, young & old, from very many different cultures & both genders. The Zoetic Festival presents bands & musicians with the same commitment to jazz & to diversity. Celebrating the meaning of jazz to life, we will have a varied & diverse demographic range of artists, representing the worldwide influences that jazz encompasses & celebrates; all Legends. We also should say delivered with humour and engagement with audiences.

Over three days in mid-May the annual celebration of jazz has examples of the music.  From the International name of Darius Brubeck and Gilad Atzmon, to a wide range of instrumentation - percussive, wind and stringed - to other headline acts led by two Chris's Batchelor and Laurence.

All 12 gigs of this year’s Festival  will take place at Birmingham Jazz'swonderful 1000 Trades venue in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter over the three days.
